I decided not to tell any one about the worm incident because I figured they already knew. But surprisingly, no one mentioned it. What everyone was concerned about was the odd colored substance splattered across X8 and the massive corpses outside. I blamed it on mid morning mist and predators.

After that, training resumed. Today was a tad bit different, though.
"No weapons today, Mord. Just fists." Hayes announced through my intercom.
"Understood. Targets?" I replied.
Then, Blackbird trotted into the training grounds.
"That." Hayes said, pointing to Blackbird.
Blackbird shot Hayes a glare, who cringed. I wriggled X8's fingers.
I was awoken in the middle of the night by a small rumbling feeling beneath the bed. I sat up and looked around. For a few seconds, there was nothing...then the rumbling resumed. Then it flashed in my mind...worms.
Big worms.
I hopped out of bed, crawled on to my wheelchair and made way for the hangars.

The elevator hoisted my up the X8's open chest, where I hoisted myself into the pilot's seat. The chest closed in front of me and the system started up. The safety clamps released off of the arms and legs. I ran out into the open and pulled out the LMG. The ground began to pop apart as the worms sped towards me. I pulled b
For the next two weeks, I loosened X8's joints and warmed up the weapon systems. After I figured out how to access the heavy gear, I immediately fell in love with the war-hammer, giving it the name "Break of Dawn". I fired up the rocket pack at one point, and soon found myself soaring above the landscape, everything beneath me. The zoom feature really gave me a sharper eye. From about 500 ft in the air, I was able to knock out 5 targets that looked like tiny grains of sand from where I was. By far, my favorite part was flying around for fun. At some points I would glide literally 5 feet off the ground and dash across the land. There would be
I ran the blade through the target, slicing it in half with one swift movement. I twirled the dagger around X8's fingers, and then slid it back into it's sheath. I looked back at the monitor tower, where Hayes gave me the thumbs-up. Inside X8's chest, my eyes darted from one hologram to another, one displaying solar power levels (at %100), hydraulic system scans, etc. Two more targets appeared before me.
"Now, use the machine gun." Hayes said through my intercom.
I looked at the hologram displaying images of a light machine gun, and sub-machine gun. I fixed my eyes on the LMG, and X8's leg opened up, and revealed a massive gun. I pulled the
